30c French Mails, double 15c rate. Manuscript “per Steamer Sacramento”.
Red New York transit marking indicates "24" cent credit to France. Backstamped "15 April 1867" in Bordeaux,
about 5 weeks delivery time.
Only Type 3 is found on the 15c Black Lincoln stamp (Scott #77) as it was issued in APR 1866,
when only the Type 3 cancel was in use. A cancel on this issue is uncommon since
it was only in existence about one year before the use of the cancel died out.
